After 6 years and debuting with Source Music, GFRIEND has decided not to renew their contracts with them.
Official notice was posted on the GFRIEND weverse board from Source Music:
Hello. This is Source Music.
The exclusive artist contract with GFRIEND and Source Music will be concluded on May 22.
After careful consideration and extensive discussion, GFRIEND and Source Music have come to an agreement to follow separate paths to continued growth.
For the past six years, GFRIEND has won the boundless love of K-pop frans through a wide range of concepts, performances and songs that marked a new generation of girl group and music.
We would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to GFRIEND who has allowed Source Music to accompany them on their journey.
We would like to deeply thank all BUDDY and fans who have shown your love for GFRIEND, and we ask that you give your unchanging love and support to the members who will begin their adventures in new and diverse areas.
Source Music will always continue to cheer for the members as they take the first step towards new beginnings.

This came to a shock to many Buddy’s worldwide… including me. The notice did not state if the group is disbanding. So there is still hope that they could be moving to a new company.
But nonetheless, I will continue to support the members in their future endeavors.
But checking on the Japanese Buddy fan page, it seems that fan club is shutting down at the end of May, so not sure what that means for the group, or because the management company is changing, that this particular fan club has to shutdown until a new one comes up.

なお、2021年5月以降に有効期間を保有している会員様には、残りの会員期間に応じる年会費を月割りで計算し、差額分を返金させていただきます。返金の手続きにつきましては、別途ご案内させていただきますので、今しばらくお待ちください。

This is an important announcement from GFRIEND JAPAN OFFICIAL FANCLUB “BUDDY JPN”.
Due to the end of GFRIEND’s activities, the operation of “BUDDY JPN” will be terminated on May 31, 2021.
Existing members will be able to use the content in FC until May 31, 2021, but will not be able to use it from June 1, 2021. However, the site will be operated for refund procedures.
For members who have a valid period after May 2021, the annual membership fee according to the remaining membership period will be calculated on a monthly basis and the difference will be refunded. Please wait for a while as we will inform you about the refund procedure separately.
